Over 10 units this new Level 3 Diploma in Reception Lead Skills offers training and development for Lead Receptionists.

The programme is ideally for experienced receptionists with supervisory duties for the work of the reception team.

This rolling programme can be joined at any time. You study from home or work at times that suit your schedule, the programme offers 100 nominal study hours over 12 months. This taught, blended learning approach is ideal for dental professionals with busy lifestyles because it places you in control of the pace of your learning. This programme is quality assured through Innovate Awarding’s Quality Endorsement Scheme. Innovate Awarding is an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation. Their aim is to provide fit for purpose vocational qualifications.

Glenys Bridges is an established practice management consultant, coach and trainer with more than 20 years experience of working with dental teams. Her training programmes have been developed in response to feedback from generations of students, with the specific aim of providing relevant, structured training programmes, using flexible blended teaching and learning techniques.

After enrolling on one of her wide range of courses, Glenys will contact you to develop your individual learning plan. Most students opt for a weekly 30-minute tutorial by phone, Facetime or Skype. Learning begins with directed reading and research, leading to the completion of learning activities directly linked to your course assignments.

I offer a range of programmes on a home learning basis and also provide in-house training for dental teams. 

Most CQC Registered Providers and Managers are now fully aware of the ever- developing nature of care quality compliance. Now with their policies and procedures in place they must follow through with regular updating monitoring and review processes to keep policies and procedures up to date and fit for purpose. What is increasingly clear is that someone is needed to accept the role of identifying regulatory changes and for their implementation and updating practice procedures to ensure that services are safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led. 

For activities such as infection control, safeguarding and information governance and radiation supervision, practices are required to appoint a named lead. In recognition of the benefits of having appointed leads in place, practices are now extending the range of lead roles and creating inclusive multi-disciplined team roles to ensure continually improving patient care. 

Making the decision to appoint leads is simply the first step. Leads need to be supported with clear job descriptions defining their roles, responsibilities and reporting requirements. They also need to be given recognition for their contribution to the work of the practice and to be rewarded for their input.

Having been employed as a head dental nurse for many years, I'd reached a point in my career where it was 'make or break'.
