The Higher Skills for Dental Practice Managers course is a bespoke accredited course. The course requires study comparable to level 4 complexity. It is a non-regulated qualification designed and delivered by Glenys Bridges and DenTTrack Academy and accredited by AIM Qualifications

It is delivered in a 1-2-1 coached format and focuses on management and leadership's factual and theoretical concepts within the dental sector. Learners study a range of reasoning and practical skills required to find solutions to common challenges and specific problems.

This program offers blended learning with live one-to-one tutorials with a named tutor.

Learners are required to produce assignments meeting approved standards for the following units:
Unit 1 – Develop Communication processes for a productive dental team.

Unit 2 – Manage personal and professional development measures for self and the team.
Aims to Consider the Role of Personal and Professional Development for Managers
Identify team roles and know how to enable each team member to contribute their best work
Understand the role of reflective learning in service development

Managers will create a learning environment to meet professional and regulatory standards
Outcome
The work in this unit will enable managers to create a working environment conducive to staff retention and career development
Unit 3- Recognise aspects of leadership and management skills.

Identify the impact of the styles of leadership and management
Evaluate leadership and management roles
Objectives
Managers will build a team hierarchy with senior and supervisory management roles to create a rewarding and fulfilling workplace and a successful business

Unit 4 – Demonstrate effective resource planning and management for a specified project.

Consider techniques for assessing the needs of the local market
Determine regulatory standards and workplace safety measures

Managers will plan and deliver a project using a range of project management and marketing analysis skills to recognise how the project meets identified needs
Outcomes
Participants will understand the needs for the services and products offered to meet the needs of the local community- internal and external markets
Unit 5 – Map quality measurements and improvement management for the practice.
Aims to Understand the underpinning principles of quality management
To apply quality principles to assess a workplace process
Know Information Governance measures and apply them in practice management measures
Objectives
Managers will be able to apply the principles of Total Quality Management to all the practices policies processes and procedures to create continuously improving services
Outcome
Participants will implement quality management principles to create a practice that conforms to compliance requirements
Unit 6 – Plan, operate, and evaluate a practice of budget management. and improvement management for the practice
Aims to Consider a range of ways to create and manage budgets
Understand terminology used in financial management
Recognise how to use financial and business planning, to ensure a business is profitable
Objectives
Managers will understand the role of the business plan and how to govern leading and lagging financial measures to create a flexible and profitable business
Outcome
Participants will develop a product and pricing scheme to ensure the business achieves the required return on investment
This qualification provides a wide range of support measures for learning, including online campus, Zoom or telephone tutorials, blended learning – in which learners can select computer- based study options such as home learning,
Each of the program's six units offers 60 learning hours, including tutorials, independent research, and assignment writing.
Each learner begins their program with a learning styles assessment to work with a tutor to select a learning program best suited to their needs; this will involve choosing computer-based distance learning, workshop, and webinar formats to deliver course content. Each student will have an allocated tutor who will mentor them throughout their qualification. Work for marking is uploaded to the GBTD website, where feedback is posted within two working days.
This program offers 180 hours of verifiable CPD eCPD Outcome B
This six-unit course is delivered over 12 months, with the course fee including 12 months of tutor support. After this period, additional monthly packages of tutor support can be purchased at a fee of £100 plus VAT per month.
We offer the option to pay the course fee in four instalments
• I understand that this course requires study at Higher Level . At this level students need to have English Functional Skills at Level 2. If my tutor advises me that my functional skills are not at this level I will be advised by my tutor on the required course of action. Which may involve additional functional skills training at my own cost.
• I have arranged to ringfence time for my tutorials- 30 mins per week and study time of at least- 2 hours per week
• I can produce course work in the Microsoft Word Format
• I certify that the work I submit for my assignments will be my own work. I realise that to make a false claim of authenticity is malpractice and could be reported to the General Dental Council. In which case my registration could be at risk.
