Introduction to the Lead Receptionist Role

 Introductory courses are forerunners for our Quality Assured programmes and qualifications.

The Introductory courses allow learners to try out the learning experience we provide to see if our approach works for them. On completion, learners will be able to make an informed decision whether to proceed on to an Advanced or Higher course

Induction Activity     The Introductory programmes start with an induction activity to establish learners' current knowledge, experience, hopes and expectations from the course and will introduce learners to our online portal system and library of resources.    

Duration     Approx. 4-6 weeks

Tuition         These programmes offers one-to-one, weekly 30 min tutorials with a named tutor. Tutorials are by appointment over the telephone, video call or zoom. In addition, online videos are available from the course portal. An extensive online library and a wide range of eCPD are also available during the period of study  

Learning Activities   Each tuition session will cover one or more blended learning activities. Which learners will complete and upload for feedback before their next tutorial.

IT requirements     Laptop or desktop running MS Word

 

Assessment   There are two assessment formats, Missing words assessment or assignments. The learner and tutor will agree on the correct format to complete the learning activities. This will depend on whether the Advanced or Higher programme is most suitable for the learner's progression.

On completion,   Learners receive an in-house certificate and eCPD. Learners can transfer the £ 100-course fee to a relevant Advanced or Higher course.

This programme leads on to the Higher Skills for Lead Receptionist Course 

Aims for this programme are to :                                                           

  • Introduce the role and responsibilities of receptionist lead
  • Identify reception skills
  • Introduce the role of policies and procedures
  • Identify ways to improve reception communications

Objectives, participants will

  • Define reception roles in dental teams
  • Produce reception protocols
  • Create effective communication channels
  • Define the role of the appointment book
  • Begin to produce a reception manual

The intention of the course is to provide a means by which participants can develop their own knowledge, skills and role in practice management. The course charts the individual, social and intellectual development of learners and any changes in attitudes.

This programme attracts 12 hours eCPD Criteria C

The full fee is due on bookingThis Foundation course is delivered over 6 weeks, with the course fee including 6 weeks of tutor support. After this period, additional monthly packages of tutor support can be purchased at a fee of £100 plus VAT per month.

Entry Requirements

I understand that this course requires study at level 3. At this level, students need to have English Functional Skills at Level 1. If my tutor advises me that my functional skills are not at this level I will be advised by my tutor on the required course of action. Which may involve additional functional skills training at my own cost.

• I certify that the work I submit for my assignments will be my own work. I realise that to make a false claim of authenticity is malpractice and could be reported to the General Dental Council and my registration could be at risk.
